Lalit is an Indian author and a disability rights activist from New Delhi. He is the winner of Henry Viscardi Achievement Award and National Award for being a Role Model for Persons with Disabilities. His first book Vitamin Zindagi is his memoir. This popular Hindi language book is considered to be one of the best motivational books written in Hindi. Lalit contracted polio at the age of four years. Vitamin Zindagi describes his unwavering will to succeed despite not just the physical but also socio-economic challenges.
An alumni of Heriot-Watt University and University of Delhi, Lalit has postgraduate degrees in Bioinformatics and Information Technology.
Lalit is also the founder of famous Kavita Kosh and Gadya Kosh projects, the largest repositories of Indian literature on Internet. He has also developed several text processing tools to help increase the use of Indian languages on Internet.
He is a well-known disability rights activist. Through his YouTube channel, Dashamlav, Lalit educates Indian persons with disabilities about their rights and facilities available to them.
WeCapable.com is another initiative he has taken to spread the information for Persons with Disabilities in India and motivate them to lead a successful and meaningful life.
